RMT & Acupuncture Services in Maple Ridge
Comprehensive care, thoughtfully delivered

At Primera Therapy in Maple Ridge, we offer two complementary therapeutic disciplines under one roof. Our registered massage therapists (RMTs) and registered acupuncturists work side by side to support your recovery, relieve chronic pain, and restore long term wellness.

Whether you arrive with a specific injury, are recovering from a motor vehicle accident, or simply want a calmer body and mind, choose the path that fits your goals. Many clients benefit from combining massage and acupuncture in a single recovery plan, and we are happy to coordinate care between both teams.

Two Disciplines, One Goal

Why Combine

Massage & Acupuncture, Working Together

Many clients at our Maple Ridge clinic combine RMT and acupuncture in a single treatment plan. Massage therapy addresses muscle tension, fascia, and joint mobility, while acupuncture supports the nervous system, circulation, and the body’s internal balance. Together, they can complement each other well for chronic pain, whiplash recovery, and stress-related conditions.

Both disciplines are typically covered by extended health insurance and we offer direct billing for most major providers, including ICBC. Speak with your therapist about the right combination for your goals.

ICBC Recovery

Injured in a Car Accident? We Can Help

Primera Therapy is an ICBC approved clinic in Maple Ridge. If you have been injured in a motor vehicle collision, ICBC pre approves up to 12 sessions of registered massage therapy and 12 sessions of acupuncture in the first 12 weeks, regardless of who was at fault, and no doctor’s referral is required. We bill ICBC directly, so most clients pay nothing out of pocket.

Combining RMT and acupuncture is particularly effective for collision recovery because massage addresses the soft tissue injuries, while acupuncture supports the nervous system response that often follows a collision. Bring your ICBC claim number to your first visit and we will verify pre approval before treatment begins. Read more on our Direct Billing & ICBC Claims page.

Common Questions

Helpful to Know

Should I book massage therapy or acupuncture?

It depends on your concern. Massage therapy excels at addressing muscle tension, soft tissue injury, joint mobility, and post surgical recovery. Acupuncture is particularly effective for chronic pain, stress, hormonal balance, headaches, and nervous system regulation. Many clients benefit from combining both. Call us and we will guide you to the right choice.

Are both massage and acupuncture covered by extended health insurance?

Yes. Most extended health plans cover both registered massage therapy and registered acupuncture in British Columbia. We offer direct billing to most major insurance providers including Pacific Blue Cross, Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Green Shield, and many more.

Can I book both massage and acupuncture in the same visit?

While we typically schedule them as separate appointments to give each treatment the full attention it deserves, many clients book them back to back on the same day or alternate weekly between disciplines. Speak with reception when booking and we will help you arrange the schedule.

Do you offer same week appointments?

Yes. We aim to offer same week availability for both RMT and acupuncture, and ICBC clients are typically seen within 1 to 2 days. Booking online shows real time availability across both teams.
