Our Philosophy
Healing Rooted in Balance
Acupuncture is one of the most studied complementary therapies in modern medicine. By placing fine, sterile needles at carefully chosen points along the body’s meridians, our practitioners help guide the flow of qi and blood, supporting the body’s own capacity to repair. Whether your goal is pain relief, fertility support, facial rejuvenation, or simply better sleep, we meet you with a treatment plan that honours both your symptoms and your story.
All of our acupuncturists are registered with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC), ensuring every treatment meets the highest clinical and safety standards. Most extended health insurance plans cover registered acupuncture, and we make claims simple with direct billing.
Services
Four Expressions of Traditional Medicine
01 · Registered Acupuncture
Registered Acupuncture
Performed by practitioners registered with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC, registered acupuncture inserts hair fine sterile needles into specific points to influence pain, circulation, and the nervous system. We combine traditional diagnostic methods, including tongue and pulse reading, with a clinical understanding of the conditions our patients live with.
- Best for chronic pain, headaches, stress, digestive issues, women’s health, sleep
- Approach classical TCM diagnosis paired with evidence informed treatment
- Outcomes reduced pain, restored balance, calmer body and mind, better recovery
- Aftercare lifestyle suggestions, when relevant, to extend the effect at home
02 · Facial Acupuncture
Facial Acupuncture
A natural alternative to invasive cosmetic procedures, facial acupuncture, sometimes called cosmetic acupuncture, uses ultra fine needles to gently stimulate collagen production, lift facial muscle tone, and bring brightness back to the complexion. Because we treat body and face together, your skin reflects both better circulation and deeper internal balance.
- Best for fine lines, dullness, puffiness, jaw tension, post stress skin
- Mechanism microstimulation triggers collagen and elastin production naturally
- Outcomes smoother texture, lifted appearance, calmer skin, restored glow
- Course a series of 5 to 10 weekly sessions, then monthly maintenance
03 · Acupressure & Tui Na
Acupressure & Tui Na
One of the four foundational branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tui Na, also known as acupressure, applies skilled hand techniques to meridians and acupoints. Rolling, kneading, pressing, and gentle joint mobilization stimulate the same channels as acupuncture, without the use of needles. It is an ideal choice for patients who prefer non insertive bodywork or who pair it with acupuncture for deeper effect.
- Best for neck and back pain, postural strain, sciatica, stress, frozen shoulder
- Techniques rolling, kneading, pressing, tapping, joint mobilization, stretching
- Outcomes released muscle tension, improved range of motion, calmer nervous system
- Setting performed fully clothed, no oils used
04 · ICBC Acupuncture
ICBC Acupuncture
If you have been injured in a motor vehicle collision, ICBC pre approves up to 12 acupuncture sessions in the first 12 weeks, regardless of fault. Acupuncture is particularly well suited to collision recovery because it addresses both the physical injury, such as whiplash and soft tissue strain, and the nervous system disruption that often follows an accident. We bill ICBC directly, so most clients pay nothing out of pocket.
- Covered for whiplash, soft tissue injury, post collision headaches, anxiety, sleep disruption
- No referral required for the first 12 sessions within 12 weeks
- Direct billing handled in clinic, no upfront payment for most claims
- Combined care we coordinate acupuncture with massage in a single recovery plan

Common Questions
Helpful to Know
Does acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture needles are far thinner than the needles used for blood work, roughly the width of a human hair. Most patients feel only a small tap on insertion, sometimes followed by a dull, heavy, or tingling sensation, which we consider a sign that the point is active.
How many acupuncture sessions will I need?
It depends on the condition. Acute issues often improve within 8 to 12 sessions, while chronic conditions may benefit from weekly treatment over several months. Facial acupuncture is typically offered as a course of 5 to 10 weekly sessions followed by maintenance every 4 to 6 weeks.
Is acupuncture safe?
When performed by a registered practitioner using sterile, single use needles, acupuncture has one of the lowest rates of adverse events in all of healthcare. Our practitioners are registered with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC.
Can I combine acupuncture with massage therapy?
Yes. Acupuncture pairs particularly well with registered massage therapy and is widely used alongside conventional medical care. Please let us know what other treatments you are receiving so we can plan thoughtfully.
I’m afraid of needles, are there alternatives?
Absolutely. Tui Na, also known as acupressure, applies the same principles as acupuncture through hand techniques rather than needles. It is an excellent entry point into Traditional Chinese Medicine for anyone with needle anxiety.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment incur a $50 cancellation fee. See our full clinic policy for details.
